Contain yer delight – St Saviours is open!

Carli and Fred at container village

St Saviours Yard - Norwich’s City’s container park is now open and trading in the run up to Christmas.

And to meet traders at the Magdalen Street site today was Councillor Carli Harper, cabinet member for finance and major projects.

Carli said: “It’s fantastic to see St Saviours Yard yesterday (18 December) before Christmas and trading and to meet a wide range of creatives, businesses and retailers. And looking forward to 2026 I am sure St Saviours will make this part of Magdalen Street a buzzing part of the city.”

As part of her visit to the site run by Meanwhile Creative Carli met the following traders:

Pinch Paints. Container 49.
Lauren “Pinch” Pincher is a full-time paint splodger and 2D figurative artist working primarily in acrylic. Using palette knives to create expressive, textured surfaces, Pinch brings emotion and movement into each piece, while also exploring softer expressionistic sketch work through plein air studies.

Sir Toby’s Beers. Container 23.
A quality bottle shop and draft beer destination offering over 100 beers, from Norfolk real ales to imperial stouts and the most recently brewed craft beers from around the world.

Crafty Llama. Container 01.
Crafty Llama UK is an arts and crafts shop and online knitting, crochet and craft store, offering everything needed to get making and stay inspired. Their passion for handmade creativity shines through every product they stock.

And as of today, the site is over 95% occupied, with just three containers remaining for rent out of a total of 63. There are 26 containers in business while the remainder get their containers ready for business.

Managing Director Fred Wyatt – of Meanwhile Creative said: "St Saviour's Yard is already becoming a vibrant cultural destination, shaped by the creativity and energy of the people working there. It is incredibly positive to see the site filling so quickly and adding new creative life to the city."

St Saviours Yard has been created as a meanwhile business space while the council and its partner Aviva Capital Partners redevelop Anglia Square to deliver 1,100 homes, new retail, community and leisure spaces.
