Follow these easy steps to update your journal.
Make sure you have your rent change letter with you. New costs need to be declared after 01/04/2024
Go to online Universal Credit account
- Go to 'To Do List'
- Choose: "Report any changes to your housing costs"
- Click on continue
Update your housing costs page
- Has your rent changed? Enter"Yes"
- Have your service charges changed? If you have service charges and they have changed, enter "Yes". If not enter"No"
- Click on continue
Housing costs: date of change page
- When did housing costs change? Enter 01/04/2024
- Click on continue
Housing costs: rent page
- How much will you be changed for new rent? Enter the new amount
- Choose: Weekly
- Click on continue
Housing costs: service charges page
- How much will you be charged for your new service charges? Enter the total of your service charges
- Choose: Weekly
- Click on continue
Confirm new housing costs page
- Read through the information
- If it is all ok tick "Yes, I confirm these details are correct"
- Make sure you tick the "I understand...box"
- Click on continue
All done - click back on to-do list
