The updated policy reflects the latest legislative requirements, including the Domestic Abuse Act 2021 and the Norfolk Continuum of Needs Guidance 2023, ensuring that our approach remains current and effective.

Key changes include:

Updated structure and responsibilities: The policy has been revised to align with our current structure and clarifies safeguarding responsibilities across all departments.

Improved accessibility: New links and resources have been added to make it easier for staff and residents to access detailed safeguarding information and guidance.

Updated definitions of abuse: The policy now incorporates updated definitions based on the Care Act 2014 and Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018.

Clearer guidance on reporting concerns: The revised policy highlights the importance of escalating safeguarding concerns and provides clear instructions for staff to follow.

This update is part of our broader efforts to enhance safety and support for those affected by domestic abuse, particularly in line with our ongoing work towards accreditation with the Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance (DAHA).
