As we enter the new year, the leader of the council has announced the new roles in his cabinet team.
The city council’s cabinet are responsible for taking key decisions on the council’s services, with each of the eight cabinet members taking on a specific portfolio area.
The three councillors who recently joined cabinet will have the following responsibilities: Claire Kidman – wellbeing and culture, Matthew Fulton-McAlister – regulatory services, and Matthew Packer – customers and digital.
Councillor Mike Stonard, leader of Norwich City Council, said:
“I’m pleased to announce the roles of Councillors Kidman, Fulton-McAlister and Packer in my cabinet and look forward to working with them on our ambitious plans for the city.
“These appointments will ensure we continue to have a strong and experienced team leading the council, which is committed to improving services and to keeping residents at the heart of everything we do.”

Councillor Beth Jones – Deputy leader of the council and cabinet member for housing and community safety
Councillor Claire Kidman – Cabinet member for wellbeing and culture
Councillor Emma Hampton – Cabinet member for climate change
Councillor Adam Giles – Cabinet member for communities and social inclusion
Councillor Paul Kendrick – Cabinet member for resources
Councillor Matthew Fulton-McAlister – Cabinet member for regulatory services
