The internet can be used to access a wide range of goods and services, including services that aim to help you manage your health and care needs online.
Below are a couple of useful online resources to help you do just that.
NHS app
The NHS App is owned and run by the NHS. It can be accessed by anyone aged 13 and over who is registered with an NHS GP surgery in England.
Once you have verified your identity in the app, you will have easy, 24/7 access to a growing range of health services and information, such as:
- View of your GP health record
- Ability to order repeat prescriptions
- Options to book and manage hospital and GP Surgery appointments in one place
- Search for symptoms, conditions, and treatments and;
- Search for NHS services near you.
The NHS app doesn’t replace existing services and you can still contact your GP surgery in the usual ways.

Children and young people’s health services
The Just One Norfolk website provides valuable and trusted help, advice and information for parents and guardians of children of all ages. This online resource seeks to help you manage your child’s health from the point of pregnancy, all the way through to adolescence.
Just One Norfolk also offers access to online chat and video appointments with health professionals, and even provides guidance on how to help keep your child safe online.
Digital Health Hubs
All Norfolk Libraries offer aide with digital skills relating to accessing and using online health services, including:
- How to make an online appointment with a GP
- Ordering repeat prescriptions
- Where to find reliable health information on both NHS websites and apps
These sessions can be accessed either in person at Norfolk libraries, or online using Zoom, with support offered on how to download and use Zoom. Appointments can be booked via telephone or email. Visit Norfolk County Council’s Healthy Library Service website.
