We have reviewed our Council Tax Support Fund scheme in line with our policy.
Our discretionary funding has been exhausted, resulting in this element of the scheme closing with effect from 4 August 2023.
We will continue to monitor the fund and will review the scheme again in December 2023 if more funding becomes available.
The Council Tax Support Fund will support households in Norwich to meet their council tax payments for the 2023/24 financial year.
The Government has provided a grant of £347,698 to support awards through the Council Tax Support Fund. Their guidelines require that we award up to £25 to residents who are eligible for Council Tax Reduction and in occupation on 1 April 2023.
Norwich City Council has made a further discretionary top up payment of up to £100. This means that eligible households who receive partial Council Tax Reduction will receive up to £125 support towards their bill for 2023/24. Please note that no council tax accounts will be put into credit.
Payments will be made automatically – there is no need to apply. The support payment will show on bills for the 2023/24 council tax year.
The terms of the fund are set in line with Government guidelines. Read the full policy of the Norwich City Council Council Tax Support Fund.
