In 2020 Norwich was revealed as one of the first seven places across the country to be given £25m from the government’s £3.6bn Towns Fund. The funding gives us the opportunity to rethink our approach to achieving our ambitions as part of Norwich 2040 City Vision and allows us to look at our long-term future regionally, nationally and internationally.
Developed with the City Vision partnership, local communities, partners and public/private investors; the Town Deal projects will provide a highly significant boost to deliver major regeneration alongside much needed skills infrastructure and jobs at a time when we are facing an unprecedented challenge to the future prosperity of the city, its residents and business community.
Eight core projects will support the delivery of jobs, homes, skills and action to reduce our carbon emissions. Projects include activities which ensure all our residents directly benefit from the proposed investment. The DigiTech Factory at Norwich City College opened its doors on 20 October 2021, and the other projects feature in the technical appendix of our Corporate Plan.
