Closed consultation: Review of our statement of licensing policy

Consultation closed on 2 May 2021

As the licensing authority under the Licensing Act 2003, Norwich City Council is required to have a statement of licensing policy. The policy is being reviewed and is now open for public consultation.

The Licensing Act 2003 regulates sales of alcohol, entertainment and late night refreshment. The licensing policy sets out how we deliver the licensing functions here in Norwich, ensuring a safe environment for users of licensed premises, operators and the local community.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and legislative changes, the draft policy proposes to remove the cumulative impact policy.

How to comment

We welcome your comments on the draft policy document. The consultation period begins on Monday 8 February 2021 and ends on Sunday 2 May 2021.

Have your say by emailing your comments to licensing@norwich.gov.uk or they can be sent to Licensing Team, Norwich City Council, St Peters Street, Norwich NR2 1NH.

All comments should state your name and / or the organisation you represent. Please note that any comments received will form part of a publicly available document for consideration through the policy adoption process. Once the consultation is closed, further information will be available on the Norwich City Council website.
