Local Housing Allowance (LHA)

LHA payments direct to landlord

Whenever possible we pay LHA directly to the tenant so that they are responsible for paying their own rent.

However, we can make the decision for payments to go directly to the landlord if we think the tenant is unlikely or unable to pay their rent or where the landlord has reduced the rent to help a tenant secure or retain their tenancy.

Apply for direct payment to the landlord

You or someone acting on your behalf can apply to us for payment to be made to your landlord by completing the Payment to landlord request form. Please send the evidence with the form if you can.

Payment to landlord request form

The landlord will need to provide us with bank details using the Landlord's application for housing benefit payments by BACS form.
