Local councils around the UK regularly take part in something known as a ‘Corporate Peer Challenge’ (CPC). These are co-ordinated by the Local Government Association (LGA) and are a way to make sure that local councils are continuously improving.
There is no legal obligation to take part in these reviews, but we commissioned our review to make sure we challenge ourselves to offer the best services we can to our residents.
Here in Norwich, we carried out a CPC in January 2023, which led to the publication of the full report (LGA), and an associated action plan in March 2023.
The March 2024 progress review, which followed the publication of the full report, demonstrates the city council’s ongoing, open and close relationship with LGA sector support.
