We regularly empty public litter bins, but please let us know if you find one that is:
- overflowing and needs emptying
- being misused (eg by a business to dispose of its waste)
- damaged
- dirty

Littering fine
Anyone who throws down, drops or otherwise deposits litter in any open place where the public have access to, is guilty of littering.
If we have sufficient evidence to indicate who has dropped the litter we will take action which may be in the form of a Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN).
Dropping or depositing litter on any land open to the air is an offence under the Environmental Protection Act 1990. Offenders can be served with a fixed penalty notice (FPN) for £80 or face prosecution and a maximum fine of £2,500 on conviction.
