Report a dead animal

We only remove dead animals from public land which we are responsible for eg public roads, pavements and parks.

We do not remove dead animals from private properties and gardens.

We aim to respond to a report of a dead animal within 24 hours or the following working day if reported out of hours.

When you make a report

Please provide us with a full description of the incident, including:

  • the exact location
  • date first seen
  • what type of animal it is
  • what type of land it is on ie highway, verge or other public land

Any information you give us will be confidential.

Collecting a pet

If a dead animal can be identified from a microchip or collar, we will try to contact the owner and check if they want to arrange to collect it.

We will only keep the owners' contact details for as long as it takes to get in touch with them, or until the end of the week the animal was picked up.
