Bulky waste can generally be described as items that you would normally take with you when moving house. Examples include:
- Sofa
- Armchair
- Bed frame
- Bike
- Cabinet
- Carpet
- Chair
- Chest of drawers
- Children’s play equipment (small slides etc)
- Coffee table/occasional table
- Cooker
- Desk
- Dressing table
- Freezer (domestic, not catering size)
- Fridge (domestic, not catering size)
- Ironing board
- HiFi
- Hoover
- Linen pole
- Mattress (a bed with mattress constitutes 2 items)
- Microwave
- Rabbit hutch
- Rotary linen line
- Sideboard
- Sofa bed
- Stair gate
- Speakers
- Suitcase
- Television
- Three piece suite (constitutes 3 items)
- Toaster
- Twin tub
- Wardrobe
- Washing machine
Items that we will not collect
- Aga-type oven
- Bagged domestic rubbish
- Bathroom suites - bath tubs, sinks, bidets or toilets
- Boilers
- Builders rubble
- Kitchen Cupboards (unless they were freestanding) or worktops
- Chemicals, oils and fluids
- Coal bunker
- Doors (external or internal)
- Engine parts
- Fitted wardrobe
- Garden waste
- Gas bottles
- Large pieces of metal
- Paint cans
- Plasterboard
- Radiators
- Sheds or fencing
- Sodium light bulb
- Soft furnishings (e.g mattresses) that are heavily soiled or infested with fleas/bedbugs
- Storage heater
- Trade waste
- Tyres
- Windows
You may be able to take some of these items to your nearest recycling centre, please check the Norfolk County Council website first, or get advice about how to dispose of items.
