Timetable for this year's budget:

• Public consultation: Thursday 21 December 2023 – Monday 15 January 2024.
• Draft budget to cabinet: Wednesday 7 February 2024
• Final budget ratified by council (committee of all 39 councillors): Wednesday 21 February 2024
• Start date: The budget for 2024-25 runs from 1 April 2024 until 31 March 2025.

Setting our budget

Norwich City Council’s budget is set each year by council – the group of all 39 democratically elected councillors.

An important part of the budget-setting process is hearing from local residents and businesses and a consultation is carried out each year to inform the proposals set before councillors and a final budget agreed.
